Meet Sarah M.! She participated in The Beachbody Challenge and won the $500 Daily Prize for October 25th!

I’ve always believed that I could pretty much eat whatever I wanted as long as I worked out. Well, two kids later, I realized that wasn’t the case. At 160 pounds I knew I wasn’t in great shape, but instead of trying to lose weight, I’d buy larger-sized tops that would camouflage my “mom belly”. I also made excuse after excuses, justifying my lifestyle (eating and exercising), and eventually became very comfortable with the body I created. I was convinced that after turning 30 and having kids it just wasn’t attainable to get back down to my wedding weight.

Then one day I decided that I really wanted to set a good example for my kids. I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life constantly worrying about my weight—wishing I weighed a little less, or looked a little different. I didn’t just want to lose the baby weight; I wanted to get back down to the healthiest version of myself. The only problem was, I didn’t know where to begin. But then an old college friend reached out to me on Facebook asking if I’d be interested in starting a Beachbody program. So I did some research and chose Turbo Fire. It had more dance components to it than other programs, burned a ton of calories, and seemed like a lot of fun—so I did it.

I just love Chalene Johnson! She’s so inspiring and motivating and is the perfect combination of pep and authenticity. She wasn’t over the top, but much of what she said in her workouts was what I needed to hear to give me that boost. I loved the music and would get the songs stuck in my head for the whole day. I also loved the fact that I ALWAYS felt like I got something out of the workouts and started seeing results right away. After the first week, the pounds just started falling off. And in 2 months, I lost 25.5 pounds. One of the most unexpected changes I experienced was the increase in my running pace. I used to run at a 17:30 pace (yes! I swear I was actually running the whole time), but quickly that pace dropped down to the 13’s, and now I’m in the 10’s.

I also participated in a Challenge Group, which was a huge component to my success. It gave me the accountability I needed to stick with the workouts and stop making excuses. I had a place where I could post whatever I was feeling and know there was someone who could relate. It also gave me an incentive to get my stuff done—workouts, healthy eating, water intake, etc. Then I could post and share my success too! I also learned how to shift my thinking about diet. Now I think of food as fuel versus an indulgence.

But I couldn’t have made such a huge transformation without the help from my amazing Coach, Amber, or Shakeology. “ShakeO” was awesome! It gave me the perfect recovery after my workouts as well as kicked off each day by eating right. It also improved my energy and really helped clean me out and kept me feeling good.

It’s so nice to have lost the weight and feel better about myself. Now while making my 45-minute commute to work, my gut doesn’t flop over my seatbelt like it used to and gross me out. Plus, I finally feel like a true athlete! I also never thought I could wear skinny jeans because of my body type, but now I’m wearing a size 4 and look great! Thanks Beachbody for creating such amazing workouts. Turbo Fire gave me the consistency I needed to make a total transformation and I’ve never felt better in my entire life. Now I’m doing PUMP and am loving it!

Meet Min D.! He participated in The Beachbody Challenge and won the $500 Daily Prize for October 26th!

Growing up I was a serious athlete. From middle school through my freshman year in college I played a bunch of sports. But after two severe injuries, I lost control and let myself get to my heaviest weight ever—268 pounds! At that point, I gave up and lost hope. I never thought I could be fit again and decide that this is just who I’m gonna be forever. My bad habits, resentment, and self-pity about my injury turned me into a very bitter individual.

Then one day my wife brought up the fact that my poor health would probably cut my life short. And now that we have a family, I should consider getting healthy so I could be around longer for my daughters. Her words flipped a switch in me and I turned to my buddy, Peter H., who’s a Beachbody Coach for help.

I wanted to lose all the weight and fat that I’ve gained since my injury, and Peter felt like INSANITY was the kick I needed to achieve my goals. Peter was so instrumental in my journey; he helped me get started, encouraged me to push play EVERY SINGLE DAY, and made sure I was staying on track. When things got tough, Peter was always there when I need him the most. , Step by step, he got me through.

The fit test for INSANITY really woke me up and made me realize how out of shape I truly was. But with each day, I learned to dig deeper and was able to complete the workouts. And as I went through the program I realized that it was doable, and that I had the ability and willpower to complete it. INSANITY was so intense; I had no idea how much of a workout you could accomplish in just 45 minutes. Shakeology was amazing too and was key in my transformation! I drank it every day (often twice a day) and it allowed me to get the proper nutrients my body needed. I also used E&E and R&R—both helped me get started, as well as recover, from my intense workouts.

My proudest achievement was not missing a single workout! I dug deeper and pushed harder and harder every single day, and the results were worth it. It was so great hearing friends and family compliment me on how great I look and how much skinnier I’ve gotten. I now have a totally different outlook on health and fitness. My daily eating habits and physical activities are now my top priorities and I have NEVER felt better! I even turned my garage into a gym and my wife is now working out with me.

In what seemed like no time at all, I went from 260 lbs. to 195, and my waist shrunk from a 40 to a 32. I’m now a Beachbody Coach and hope to help others get fit and live a happier and healthier life. Thanks Beachbody, for giving me a new lease on life. My family thanks you too.

Meet Tommy C.! He participated in The Beachbody Challenge and won the $500 Daily Prize for October 27th!

Before I transformed my life with P90X, I was ashamed and embarrassed of who I’d become. I ballooned up to 227 lbs., always felt rundown, and never did much of anything except watch TV and eat. If I wasn’t at work, I was on the couch. I never had the energy to do anything, so I didn’t. My life was pretty mundane and I knew I needed to change. But knowing it and doing it are two completely different things.

Since I spent all my free time on the couch watching TV, for more than a year I watched P90X infomercials, daydreaming about me becoming one of those chiseled guys. I couldn’t take looking at my reflection any longer and I hated how I felt. One day I told my wife that if a person does P90X the way it’s supposed to be done, there’d be no way it would not work. So she challenged me to do it and I accepted.

The most difficult part wasn’t the workouts. Nope, it was my terrible eating habits. But after just one week of being disciplined with the workouts and the diet, the results I was getting were so great that they inspired me to keep going and make a COMPLETE life change! Sure it was hard. But the results were worth it.

I really liked the fact that P90X was not just the same old routine day after day after day. Even though each workout phase had its own routine, I was doing something different every day of the week. In 90 days of sticking to the plan, I lost 43 lbs., 9 inches off my waist, and 3 inches in my hips. I went from a size 36 pant to a 32 and feel amazing. At 44 years old, I’m in the best shape I’ve been in in almost 20 years and love my results. I also have more stamina now and am more aware of my eating habits than ever before.

Today I feel 100% better about myself and am so proud that I finished the P90X program. I like seeing the shock on someone’s face who hasn’t seen me in a while and getting to say “I told you so” to those who said I couldn’t do it. I knew P90X would work for me. The truth is, it’ll work for anybody who sticks with it and follows the plan.

Thanks Beachbody for transforming my life. Now I’m no longer embarrassed when I look in the mirror. And I have so much energy these days that the last place anyone will find me is the couch.
